Olin College of Engineering located in Needham Massachusetts contracted the services of Circadia Group to perform an IGLA lighting audit to include specifying LED lighting replacements and lighting control upgrades for its campus buildings. A relatively newer campus, (established 1997) the 400K square feet of building space is made up of grand multi-story atriums and clear story curtain walls with towering soffits making maintaining the existing lighting a challenge. Proposed long life LED lighting reduces maintenance and utilize existing lighting infrastructure. Our lighting specification portfolio provided a mix of new fixture replacements and retro-fit solutions to achieve an acceptable payback target while meeting our aesthetic criteria. Our proposed controls solutions maximized energy savings, taking advantage of daylight harvesting and added scheduling capability through the controls interface.
