Brian Robertson, CLEP
President, Founder, Principal
Brian is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of Circadia Group and ensuring the quality of services delivered. He also provides his clients with program management execution and planning. Brian has been embedded in the construction industry since 2001 starting as a laborer in commercial construction and continuing into project management. As founder of Circadia Group, Brian has focused on adding diverse and qualified subject matter experts with backgrounds in architecture, engineering, lighting, and construction. Circadia group has grown into a specialized company that performs as the owner’s representative managing energy programs, capital projects, and providing consulting on a variety of energy and sustainability initiatives.
Brian attended Temple University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He also received an MBA from the University of Phoenix and is a Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional. Brian and his wife Carly reside outside of Doylestown Pennsylvania and are kept busy with their two children. Brian enjoys traveling with family, playing golf, and attending car shows in his spare time.
Ed King
Vice President
Ed provides leadership and assists with the strategic direction of Circadia Group while ensuring the quality of services delivered. Through his experience, Ed has expanded to manage multiple projects, programs, and teams. He also leads marketing and business development for Circadia.
Ed graduated from Penn State and the University of Leeds with a Master of Architectural Engineering degree. He began his career in the lighting industry in 2001 working in the USA and Europe with large international lighting manufacturers including Philips Lighting (Signify) and Zumtobel. Ed lives near Princeton NJ with his wife Jeni and their three children. He is an avid pool (snooker) player and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
David Gnapp
Director of Strategic Partnerships
David has held positions of increasing responsibility in the lighting industry since 2007. He worked in various roles for Philips Lighting as Lead Project Manager, District Sales Manager and in Sales Performance Management. During that time, he successfully developed and led teams of salespeople and project managers. Since joining Circadia Group, Dave has led the installation of a 12MW Solar Array, project managed geothermal bore implementation, project managed a complete office suite renovation and overseen multiple different lighting projects. He has an emphasis on project and program management for decarbonization efforts, lighting design/control integration and project quality assurance. Dave graduated from Marymount University in 2005. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing golf and donating time to some of the charity organizations he is associated with.Michael John Iadevaia
Associate Project Manager
Michael John is an Associate Project Manager at Circadia Group. With his background in Data Analytics from Sacred Heart University and certifications in Microsoft Excel and Lutron Quantum lighting controls, Michael John brings a data-driven approach to his work.
Michael John specializes in Lighting Project Management, where he leads Lighting Audits and Lighting Control Programming. He also works on Logistic Planning for our Steam to Hot Water conversion projects. Michael John thrives in fast-paced environments and is always looking for ways to optimize our project management processes.
When Michael John’s not crunching numbers, you can find him hitting up estate sales, breaking a sweat at the gym, or whipping up meals in the kitchen. He is the kind of guy who brings a positive attitude and a sense of fun to everything he does.
Russell Hart
Senior Project Manager/Construction Field Manager
Russ has been leading capital improvement programs since 2001. He brings considerable experience in the higher education and government sectors, having managed numerous large programs and provided client representation. Before joining Circadia, Russ managed the completion of the Nursing and Health Sciences Center and other large capital projects at Neumann University. He also served as the Director of Capital Program Management at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Currently Russ provides construction field management services for thermal distribution civil projects at Princeton University. Russ enjoys spending time at the beach on LBI, playing golf and spending time with his grandkids.David Matlack, PE, LEED AP
Senior Project Manager/Engineer
David has 13 years of experience at a higher education institution serving as Campus Engineer and Project Manager supporting campus planning and asset renewal efforts. Prior to his higher education experience, Dave spent 10 years designing HVAC systems for Science & Technology clients. Dave provides his extensive engineering expertise to our client accounts and acts as a lead consulting engineer on our low-temp hot water conversion projects. Dave graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and is a NJ licensed Professional Engineer. Dave is also a LEED Accredited Professional. Outside of work, Dave and his wife are kept busy by their two children. In his free time, he enjoys riding his road or mountain bikes, working in the garage on his cars, and camping with his family.Justus Caesar, MBA, PMP
Senior Project Manager
Justus has been working in Capital Project Management, Facilities Management, and Construction Management since 2008. Before joining Circadia, Justus worked as Project Manager for Aramark, managing projects for different clients, including Samsung North America and the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. Justus has also managed projects for Princeton University and Community Housing Management Corp (CHMC).
Justus is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Technology from Vaughn College and an MBA in Project Management from Norwich University. In his free time, Justus enjoys spending time with his wife and sons at their New Jersey Residence. Justus enjoys motorcycles, spicy food, and listening to jazz and reggae music.
Randy Pedretti
Business Development and Operations Manager
Randy is responsible for Business Development and Operations at Circadia Group. Randy started his career as an Officer in the Army where he spent 10 years in personnel and financial management assignments. He has since spent over 25 years in Sales and Sales Operations roles in the pulp & paper, locomotive and lighting industries. He worked with two other members of our team at Philips Lighting and was excited to rejoin them at Circadia. Randy received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and an MBA from Syracuse University. He and his wife Patti have four children – two working in Texas and two attending college at Rutgers University. In his spare time, Randy enjoys participating in or watching just about any type of sport. He bikes and swims regularly and is determined to master the game of pickleball.Julie Montenoise, CEM
Energy Analyst
Julie has been working in energy management, specific to building and sustainability actions, within higher education and international governments since 2012. She is an expert in analyzing energy data around consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Julie has an academic background in Environmental Engineering (bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Paris-VII University, France) and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). In her spare time, Julie loves traveling with her husband Johan, spending time with her friends and family, and hanging out at home while listening to some music.
Emma Luis
Project Manager
Emma brings a unique combination of detail-oriented execution and big-picture thinking to her Project Manager role at Circadia. Her passion lies in finding efficient, effective and out-of-the box solutions, ensuring project success from start to finish.Before Circadia Group, Emma worked at Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) and PTC’s Onshape where she excelled in tackling complex issues and built a strong foundation in project management and process optimization. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. Outside of the office, Emma can be found tinkering with her 3D printer, solving puzzles with her treasure-hunting team, and searching for the best chocolate cake wherever she travels.
Don Jacklin, LC
Project Manager
Don is responsible for Project Management on our lighting programs and contractual compliance within the greater organization. His responsibilities include managing sourcing arrangements and external vendors, in addition to supporting solution specifications. Don reviews sub-consultant contracts for alignment with project scope and oversees the delivery of RFPs for quality and completeness. Having a well-established lighting background, Don started his career with Signify (Philips Lighting) and affiliated sub-bands in 2000 where he gained experience in portfolio management, sales management, mergers, and new-venture incubation environments. Don holds a number of professional certificates in business leadership and management.
In 2018, Don moved to the Princeton area from Vancouver, Canada with his wife and two children where they enjoy gaming and biking in the Sourland Mountains.
Tomas Racek
Construction Field Manager
Tomas joined Circadia as a Construction Field Manager where he provides onsite construction field oversight for our renewable energy projects. Tomas earned his bachelor’s degree in Renewable Services from the Technical University in Kosice and earned his master’s degree in Thermal Power Engineering Machinery & Equipment from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Prior to joining Circadia, Tomas worked as a Research Assistant at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
Outside of work, Tomas enjoys bullet chess, running, reading, and traveling. As he visits new places, he is always looking for new vegetarian dishes to try.
Carly Robertson
Director of Human Resources/AR
Carly oversees human resources for Circadia Group, managing the company’s benefits offerings and onboarding new employees. In her prior career, Carly was an elementary school teacher in the public school system for over 13 years. She managed her classrooms, planning daily programs and activities for a number of subjects. Staying organized and communicating to a variety of personalities, whether students or parents, has prepared her for her current role in human resources.
In her free time, Carly enjoys traveling with family, making trips to the beach, and reading her favorite book of the week.
Chuck Polas
Project Manager
Chuck is responsible for project and account management in New England, developing and delivering sustainable lighting design and control integration solutions. He has held positions in the electrical industry for over 30 years in construction, distribution, and lighting. During his 21-year tenure at Philips Lighting, he successfully led regional sales and customer-facing teams that helped design and deliver sustainability projects for end-users, working closely with contractors and implementers.
Chuck resides in New England and enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends exploring the backroads and waterways of the Northeast and beyond.
Pam Calcado
Business Manager
Pam has been managing Finance and Administration for Architects and Contractors for over 30 years. She holds a degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and is continuing her education in Fine Arts and Art History. She has worked for a handful of New Jersey-based architects as well as at Princeton University Facilities. Pam enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking with her dog, horseback riding, winters in Vermont, and being at the Jersey shore.Nathan McCarraher
Project Manager
Nathan, a recent graduate from Penn State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, is working on our low-temp hot water building conversion projects and supporting our thermal distribution implementation oversight group. His academic focus on steam distribution systems, combined with practical experience at his engineering internships, brings a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to our team.
Outside of work, Nathan is an avid fisherman, golfer, and skier. He has served as a certified instructor for a ski resort and competed on Penn State’s Ski Team. He is also awaiting finalization of a patent with GE Healthcare for a product he developed as a student.
Steve Graham
Project Manager
As a member of our Business Development team and Project Manager, Steve specializes in lighting with a deep understanding of newer lighting technologies. Starting his lighting career in 2007, Steve successfully assisted customers in reducing their carbon footprint by converting conventional lighting products to energy efficient lighting with controls. Steve is passionate about leveraging the resources of Circadia Group to drive innovation and help our clients achieve their sustainability goals. Steve is a graduate of West Chester University. His technical expertise, combined with his problem-solving skills, allows him to provide an energy-saving project on time and within budget. Steve’s excited to contribute his knowledge and skills to Circadia Group and help all our clients achieve their sustainability objectives.
When Steve isn’t researching the latest trends in sustainability, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys a day on the golf course or a day of fishing. Skiing takes up his spare time in the winter months.
